About the position

The Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader at Target is responsible for driving sales and managing a team within specialized departments such as Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics. This role focuses on creating a guest-obsessed culture, ensuring product availability, and leading a team to meet sales goals while providing exceptional customer service. The position requires a blend of leadership, merchandising, and operational skills to enhance the shopping experience and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth and profitability.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience.
  • Create schedules and adjust as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage team planning for merchandising and pricing workload including transitions and promotions.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including weekends and evenings.
  • Build a knowledgeable and passionate team in specialized departments.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using effective training techniques.
  • Lead backroom processes and ensure product availability on the sales floor.
  • Deliver inspiring visual merchandising moments in relevant areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used effectively.
  • Plan and follow-up on operational changes and staffing needs.
  • Develop and coach team members to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability and performance management.
  • Provide excellent service and shopping experiences for guests.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance in all operations.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and adapting to change.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
