About the position

The Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader at Target is responsible for driving sales and managing a team of consultants in specialized departments such as Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics. This role focuses on creating a guest-obsessed culture, ensuring product availability, and leading the team to meet sales goals while providing exceptional customer service. The position requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to manage multiple specialty areas effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth and profitability.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience.
  • Create schedules and adjust as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage team planning for merchandising and pricing workload including transitions and promotions.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business objectives.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including weekends and evenings.
  • Build a knowledgeable and passionate team in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using effective selling training techniques.
  • Lead backroom processes and ensure product availability for guests.
  • Deliver inspiring visual merchandising moments in relevant areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Plan and lead operational changes and anticipate unique store trends.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent for both short and long term.
  • Develop and coach team members to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold the team accountable.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Strong cognitive skills including problem analysis and decision making.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
