Responsibilities

  • Underwrite business through appointed wholesale brokers across various industries.
  • Analyze data and employ critical thinking to make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with other underwriters and leaders to enhance team performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills in all interactions.
  • Manage time and organizational tasks effectively to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions to improve underwriting practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3+ years of Commercial Auto underwriting experience with exposure to Trucking risks.
  • Experience with rating fundamentals and underwriting principles.
  • Experience working with wholesale brokers is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with business partners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think analytically about business problems and propose solutions.
  • High energy self-starter with resilience and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on delivering outcomes.
