About the position

Clark University is seeking a collaborative and innovative leader to serve as the Executive Vice President (EVP) and/or Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role involves providing strategic financial counsel, ensuring excellence in the execution of the University's financial affairs, and playing a key role in administrative management. The EVP will work closely with the president, provost, senior colleagues, and trustees to shape the vision and direction of the University, which is committed to advancing knowledge and understanding through rigorous scholarship and creative effort.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial counsel to the president and senior leadership.
• Oversee budgeting and financial planning for the University.
• Manage business services, controller and treasury functions, and human resources.
• Support integrated long-range financial, operational, capital, and facilities planning.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, including Title IX, and manage campus safety and legal services.
• Lead stewardship and management of all University assets.
• Support the recruitment and retention of high-caliber faculty and staff.
• Advance diversity and inclusion initiatives within the campus community.

Requirements

• At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in financial and administrative roles, preferably in higher education.
• Strong understanding of trends and issues facing institutions of higher education.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
