About the position

The Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff (EVP) at Housing Partnership Network (HPN) serves as a key advisor and strategic partner to the President and CEO, managing critical operations and supporting the achievement of the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves overseeing the executive leadership team, managing budgets, facilitating communication, and driving collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with HPN's mission and vision. The EVP also plays a crucial role in fundraising, governance, and fostering a positive organizational culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the office of the President and CEO and serve as a thought partner and advisor.
  • Develop and manage the budgets of the chief executive office and all functional areas reporting to this EVP position.
  • Plan and facilitate Executive Team (E Team) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, retreats, and planning sessions.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of HPN's Strategic Framework.
  • Drive collaboration and strategic alignment across teams to ensure cohesive decision-making.
  • Facilitate clear internal and interdepartmental communications.
  • Develop and implement HPN's internal and external communication strategy.
  • Raise grants and other resources from leading foundations and financial institutions.
  • Oversee people and cultural practices to promote an employee-oriented culture.
  • Oversee all HPN governance related activity, including planning and content for Board of Directors meetings.
  • Provide executive support to the CEO and manage day-to-day operations of the chief executive office.
  • Lead and oversee critical projects from conception to completion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in a strategic leadership role, preferably as a Chief of Staff or equivalent.
  • Experience working in affordable housing, lending, and/or community development is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Successful experience in collaborative goal setting and decision making.
  • Extensive experience in mission-focused organizations with strong business acumen.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in managing and developing senior professional staff.
