About the position

The University of Louisville is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to fill the role of Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (EVP/CFO). This position is crucial for overseeing the university's financial operations, managing a substantial operational budget, and supporting the institution's strategic goals. The EVP/CFO will work closely with the university's president, board, and senior leadership, while also collaborating with UofL Health and the School of Medicine to enhance financial planning and reporting, cash management, and overall financial health of the university.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the financial operations of the University of Louisville, including financial planning and reporting, cash management, and budget oversight.
• Oversee the university's $1.7 billion operational budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
• Communicate financial goals and opportunities to the university community and stakeholders.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the President, Board, and senior leadership in executing the university's strategic plan.
• Collaborate with UofL Health and the School of Medicine to align financial strategies with institutional goals.
• Manage a diverse team of 500 staff members within the finance and administration units.

Requirements

• Master's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in fiscal and administrative roles within complex academic settings.
• Strong financial management skills and familiarity with research universities.
• Proven track record of leading and managing teams effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
