About the position

The University of Louisville is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to fill the role of Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (EVP/CFO). This position is crucial for overseeing the university's financial operations, managing a substantial operational budget, and supporting the institution's strategic goals. The EVP/CFO will work closely with the university's leadership and health system to enhance financial planning, reporting, and management, ensuring the university's mission is fulfilled effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the financial units of the University of Louisville.
  • Oversee the management of a $1.7 billion operational budget.
  • Communicate financial goals and opportunities to the university community.
  • Ensure effective financial planning and reporting, cash management, and budget oversight.
  • Collaborate with UofL Health and the School of Medicine on financial matters.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President, Board, and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in fiscal and administrative roles.
  • Significant experience in complex academic settings, particularly in public higher education institutions.
  • Strong financial management skills and familiarity with research universities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong track record of team leadership.
