About the position

The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Marketing and Communications at Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's vision and marketing strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the EVP is responsible for driving brand positioning and leading public relations efforts. This position is integral to the Senior Leadership Team and oversees all external communication initiatives, including marketing, promotion, media relations, and public information, as well as key internal communications. The EVP will provide strategic leadership and oversight in several key areas, including branding and messaging to enhance brand awareness and revenue across various programs such as Homeownership, Development, and ReStores. The role also involves expanding the organization's visibility as a leader in the Affordable Housing market and advancing impactful messaging to engage new and existing donors in collaboration with the Development Team. In this capacity, the EVP will lead a team of marketing professionals and manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and marketing agencies. Essential job functions include developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and brand identity, providing mentorship to the marketing team, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize marketing initiatives. The EVP will oversee the planning and execution of impactful events and seminars, develop compelling content across various channels, and cultivate relationships with key media outlets to secure favorable coverage. Additionally, the EVP will monitor market trends, define key performance indicators, manage marketing budgets, and champion a customer-centric approach to marketing, ensuring all initiatives deliver value and enhance the customer experience. Continuous process improvement and performance evaluation will also be a focus, as the EVP seeks to drive quality and consistency in product delivery while staying current with the latest trends in performance marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight in branding and key messaging to drive growth in brand awareness and revenue.
  • Expand Dallas Area Habitat's visibility as a leader in the Affordable Housing market.
  • Advance key impact messaging to cultivate new and existing donors in partnership with the Development Team.
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals and manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and marketing agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and execute marketing strategy per strategic plan.
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company goals and brand identity.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of marketing professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of impactful events and seminars to bolster brand visibility and fundraising efforts.
  • Spearhead the development of compelling content and messaging across diverse channels to engage target audiences.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with key media outlets to secure favorable coverage.
  • Monitor market trends and customer insights to adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to gauge the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
  • Manage marketing budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize ROI.

  • Implement continuous process and performance improvement measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated successful experience leading marketing and branding efforts.
  • Expert knowledge in media relations, social media, and impact-driven communications.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze marketing analytics and data to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated revenue-driving support and ability to create strategies to drive revenue.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least eight years of proven successful experience leading marketing efforts, including both nontraditional and traditional media.
  • Previous experience driving process improvement measures and driving revenue.
  • Experience in marketing research including web metrics and web content management.
