The department offers comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services to patients in the community. The staff is comprised of a mixture of registered nurses , exercise physiologists and respiratory therapists . Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provides supervision and monitoring of exercise session patients during cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation including assessing vital signs and telemetry monitor. Provides patient monitoring during class and interprets physiological response to exercise. Provides competent compassionate patient care based on scientific principles Collaborates with other exercise physiologists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and attending physicians when appropriate for creation and update of individualized plan of care Prescribes exercise intensity and develops exercise plan at initial assessment Prepares and adjusts individual exercise prescriptions in accordance with relevant testing and physician recommendations on a regular basis. Performs exercises with patients, demonstrating correct body mechanics and proper use of equipment to prevent injury Assists with orientation of new patients Reviewing medical history and documenting daily assessment and session data in patients' medical records Scheduled Hours: 24 hr/wk Work Shift: M - 8:30a - 5p, W - 8:30a - 5p and F - 7:15a - 3:45p. No holidays, no weekends. Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field. Required Experience: strong cardiology background highly preferred. Prior experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, EKG monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, exercise prescription and exercise testing for clinical populations.
