About the position

The Exercise Physiologist in the Stress Lab at Mainland Hospital is responsible for analyzing patients' medical histories to assess exercise risk and determine appropriate fitness regimens. This role involves performing cardiac stress tests, including pharmacological stress testing, and analyzing patient data such as blood pressure and heart rhythm to evaluate cardiac function. The Exercise Physiologist administers tests, records data, and explains procedures to patients, ensuring a comprehensive cardiac fitness evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze patients' medical histories to assess exercise risk.
  • Perform cardiac stress tests, including pharmacological stress testing.
  • Record and analyze patient data, including blood pressure and heart rhythm.
  • Explain test procedures and details to patients.
  • Administer the entire stress test process, from attaching leads to assisting during adverse events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science required.
  • Exercise Physiologist Certified (EPC) preferred.
  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • BLSHCP certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience administering maximal and sub-maximal graded exercise tests.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
