About The Position

The Expanded Learning Program Instructor at Antioch Middle Schools is responsible for leading and mentoring youth in an expanded learning environment. This role focuses on providing academic, physical, and enrichment activities to support the educational equity and emotional well-being of students. Instructors will work collaboratively within a creative team to positively impact the community and foster a safe and engaging learning atmosphere.

Requirements

• Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or a High School Diploma/GED and pass the Instructional Aide exam.
• Ability to reliably commute to Antioch, CA.
• Commitment to education equity and leadership.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must provide negative TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.
• Provide a safe environment for all participants.

• Engage students in lesson plans that support school day learning.
• Run community circles based on restorative practices.
• Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development through a youth-driven curriculum.
