About the position

The Expediter/Expo position at Scoreboard Cedar Creek Marina involves ensuring that food is prepared and served correctly and efficiently, acting as a crucial link between the kitchen and the dining area. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and presentation of dishes, as well as facilitating communication between kitchen staff and waitstaff. Responsibilities

• Maintain verbal communication with chefs to check on the status of dishes and call for waitstaff when food is ready to serve.
• Keep staff well-informed and alert the waitstaff when the kitchen is out of a specific ingredient and relay special food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
• Monitor portion control of finished dishes, ensuring they adhere to restaurant standards.
• Meet presentation standards by inspecting every plate to ensure proper garnishes are applied and that dishes are free of smudges and spills before delivery.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and organized, ensuring cooking, prep, and food storage areas are stocked with ingredients.
• Adhere to sanitation standards to ensure cleanliness among kitchen and waitstaff.
• Assist all staff as needed, including cooking, prepping food, serving plates, and assisting with management tasks.
• Address customer complaints by serving as a liaison for the kitchen staff and finding solutions to satisfy customers.

Requirements

• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively relay information between kitchen and waitstaff.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Attention to detail for food presentation and quality control.

• Previous experience as a food expeditor or in a similar role.
