About the position
As an Experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, you will play a crucial role in enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency within the plant. Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventive, routine, and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance, as well as troubleshooting to ensure that operations run smoothly at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on all plant machinery.
- Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant.
- Accept and control maintenance operations, communicating non-compliance issues to the supervisor.
- Identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility.
- Maintain general housekeeping and organization of the maintenance department and repair work areas.
- Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
- Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance processes.
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs effectively.
- Accurately fill out documentation on work orders.
- Perform emergency maintenance repairs to all plant machinery.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical industrial knowledge and basic electrical knowledge.
- Ability to operate motor control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, hoists, fire protection, and mechanical bearing systems.
- Experience operating metal working tools such as grinder, band saw, drill press, welding equipment, etc.
- Ability to correctly retrieve and input data in computer using Excel and CMMS System.
- Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Nice-to-haves
- Mechatronics certificate is strongly desired but not required.
