About the position

The Experience Manager (EM) at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and drive sales growth in retail and services. This role encompasses overseeing salon services, boutiques, and retail sales while ensuring compliance with company standards. The EM is accountable for metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS) and plays a crucial role in fostering a positive team culture and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to services, boutiques, retail sales, and guest loyalty.
  • Drive company profitability through operational excellence and top-line sales growth.
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs and maximize productivity.
  • Address underperforming metrics by developing strategies to improve services and sales.
  • Support direct reports in developing and maintaining their clientele.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and products to better serve guests.
  • Maintain regular attendance and hold associates accountable to attendance policies.
  • Attract, hire, retain, and source a diverse team of top talent for the salon and boutiques.
  • Build a highly engaged team through effective collaboration and communication.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and engagement of associates.
  • Support professional development through training and performance reviews.
  • Participate in ongoing training to drive sales performance.
  • Establish professional relationships to collaboratively deliver on sales and service goals.
  • Model teamwork and guest service excellence by working alongside the leadership team.
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results across performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards.
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to manage store workload and attendance.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring compliance with operating procedures.
  • Execute inventory control processes and complete theft reporting as necessary.
  • Communicate feedback on business trends and operational challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Cosmetology license and/or a cosmetology management license where required by state law.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant, fast-paced retail management experience.
  • Success in driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets.
  • Advanced competency in services, guest experience, and product attachment in cosmetology management.
  • Proven ability in retail management, including inventory monitoring and operational excellence.
  • Experience in leadership management, including attracting and developing talent.
