About the position

Twin Lakes Fire Service is seeking an experienced Auto CAD Designer/Manager to join their engineering team. This role involves designing fire sprinkler systems, collaborating with office and field crews, and ensuring compliance with local codes and specifications. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of implementing innovative ideas to enhance departmental efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems using architectural drawings.
• Perform necessary tests and research to provide hydraulic calculations for various systems.
• Design sprinkler systems to specifications and local codes using CAD based software and MEP CAD.
• Prepare necessary drawings and submittals.
• List material for projects and contact proper suppliers for quotes.
• Review all work prior to submittal.
• Build a packet including blueprints, contact info, test forms, and special instructions for field use.
• Schedule necessary pre-installation meetings with project manager and foreman.
• Maintain records for future review.
• Coordinate with other subcontractors to ensure minimal design conflict.
• Maintain a minimum NICET III certification.
• Perform continuing education and keep current with codes governing the design and installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• Keep current with new products and procedures that will benefit customers and the company.
• Attend progress meetings and visit job sites during installation to examine progress and review any issues with site foreman.
• Assist with project management and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

• CAD experience is required.
• Valid NICET certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
