About the position

The Bookkeeper position at Shultz Huber & Associates is a full-time role focused on maintaining accurate financial records for clients. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with tax regulations and providing valuable financial insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients and team members to manage accounts efficiently and deliver exceptional service with a focus on accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Maintain general ledgers and prepare trial balances.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for clients and management.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare payroll and ensure accurate payroll tax reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, including tax filing deadlines.
  • Communicate with clients and answer any queries related to their financial records.
  • Collaborate with accountants and auditors during the financial reporting process.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records for easy retrieval.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role in an accounting or professional services firm.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • A degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
