About the position

Mead & Hunt is seeking an experienced civil engineer to join their aviation team, focusing on military and federal projects. This role involves leading engineering projects, client interactions, and mentoring project staff, with the flexibility of remote or hybrid work options.

Responsibilities

• Designing and leading military and federal engineering projects
• Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
• Leading proactive client interactions, marketing, and communications with federal aviation clients
• Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
• Serving as the project manager and mentoring project staff
• Serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• At least five years of relevant work experience
• PE license in any state with ability to obtain a PE license within six months of start date
• Experience with military and/or federal projects

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D design software
• Leading the development of plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and submittal packages for military projects
• Experience with SpecsIntact software
• Experience with PCASE software
• Project QA/QC including leading design reviews
• Preparing scopes, fees, and contracts
