About the position

We are seeking an Experienced Civil - Site Drafter / Designer to work out of our Framingham, Chicago, or Orlando office. This role has the potential to be remote depending on the candidate. As an experienced designer in site civil work, you will coordinate directly with our civil engineers supporting our substation/transmission site development group. Your primary responsibility will be to create site plans, grading and drainage plans, and site development details. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to take direction from engineers to start projects using survey data, substation overlays, aerial photography, and general site topography to create comprehensive drawing packages. A substantial attention to detail will be required, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory. Effective communication, promoted by a philosophy of continuous improvement and teamwork, is essential for success in this role. In this position, you will prepare site design drawings and models with a high degree of precision, ensuring that engineering design details are accurately represented for the development of new substations as well as site expansion projects for existing substations. You will also exercise good judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on survey results, contributing to the overall success of the projects you work on. Responsibilities

  • Prepare site design drawings, models of site plans, grading and drainage drawings, and site details with a high degree of precision.
  • Ensure engineering design details are properly represented for the development of greenfield substations and site expansion projects for existing substations.
  • Exercise good judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on survey results.

Requirements

  • Associates/2-year degree in Engineering Technology - CAD or related scientific/technical discipline preferred; High School diploma required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in site development.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation drawing creation.
