About the position
The Class A Heavy Equipment Operator at Moretrench is responsible for operating various heavy machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency. This role requires extensive experience in heavy equipment operations, particularly in mass excavations and construction activities. The operator will work under the direction of project leads and is expected to maintain high safety standards while performing physical duties in diverse job site environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment under the direction of the Lead Operator and project leads.
- Follow and maintain safe operating procedures in accordance with Moretrench safety policy and OSHA requirements.
- Perform daily maintenance checks and greasing of assigned equipment.
- Inspect equipment prior to use and maintain accurate logs of equipment operation.
- Report any equipment damage or safety issues to the Foreman or Superintendent.
- Adapt to changing field conditions and project scope as directed by the Foreman.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating multiple pieces of heavy equipment at Class A operator level.
- Extensive experience in heavy equipment operations involving mass excavations, clearing, backfilling, and pipe laying.
- Demonstrated skills as a finish grade operator with a tolerance of 1/10 of a foot or better.
- Skilled in using GPS systems for grading purposes.
- Valid Florida driver's license or equivalent.
