About the position
The Press Brake Operator is a vital role within the Fabrication Department, responsible for operating and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints. This position ensures that the finished products meet quality standards and customer requirements, requiring a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain press brake machines.
- Bend and shape metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints.
- Ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Measure and calculate dimensions for bending operations accurately.
- Identify and resolve minor machine issues.
- Layout, cut, form, fit, and install assemblies from various materials when provided with blueprints or verbal instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and manuals.
- Inspect all manufactured products for quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use basic hand and measuring tools.
- Ability to understand, read, and speak the English language.
Nice-to-haves
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. and certificate from an accredited technical or trade school.
- Strong working knowledge of the heavy truck industry.
