About the position

Our Pewaukee, Wisconsin-based corporate office is seeking a full-time, in-office WordPress Developer to join our growing team and play a key role in the development and maintenance of our high-profile WordPress websites. As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and customizing complex WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific needs and functionalities. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring that our websites are secure and optimized for performance. Staying up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, best practices, and security updates is crucial in this role. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior developers by providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Ensuring website responsiveness and compatibility across various devices and browsers will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize complex WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific needs and functionalities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
• Implement best practices for website security and performance optimization, including server-side optimizations, caching strategies, and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs).
• Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, best practices, and security updates.
• Mentor and guide junior developers by providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Ensure website responsiveness and compatibility across various devices and browsers.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
• Comprehensive understanding of Advanced Custom Fields and Git Repository.
• Ability to create Figma Mockups and Designs and effectively convert them to a website.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to easily convert Figma Mockups to websites.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to be creative and think outside the box with new designs day in and day out.
• 3+ years of on the job, full-time experience in web development / graphic design (Schooling does not count towards your 3 years).
• Ability to code from scratch and not using a code generator.
• Mastery over Adobe Photoshop.
• Ability to write/create a functional website from scratch using HTML/CSS.
• Ability to implement pre-built JQuery plug-ins and JavaScript's in HTML/CSS sites.
• Comprehensive understanding of basic SEO principles, including on-page optimization meta-tags, and title tags.
• The ability to manipulate and customize WordPress.
• Mastery over PHP/JavaScript/JQuery/MySQL.
