About the position

The Experienced Data Scientist Machine Learning position at Plaid focuses on designing, building, and deploying scalable machine learning solutions for the Identity Verification product. The role involves utilizing Plaid's extensive network data to enhance user identity verification processes, experimenting with advanced modeling techniques, and collaborating with a skilled team to drive impactful AI/ML solutions that empower users in their financial journeys.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing Plaid's massive network data to verify the identity of users and seamlessly stitch together verification methods.
• Empowering millions of users through well-known and emerging Fintech applications with access to financial services.
• Experimenting with cutting-edge ML modeling techniques.
• Working on 0-1 stage problems.
• Developing AI/ML models in a full life cycle, from offline training to online serving and monitoring.
• Collaborating with teams across Identity Verification to define the data/ML roadmap.
• Diving deep into data and applying data-driven decisions in day-to-day work.

Requirements

• 5+ years in training and serving AI/ML models in a production environment.
• 3+ years in building/working with data intensive backend applications in large distributed systems.
• Ability to code and iterate independently on top of data infrastructure tools like Python, Spark, Jupyter notebooks, standard ML libraries, etc.
• Experience with data analytics and data engineering is a plus.
• Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Operation Research, or a closely related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the industry application of ML in Identity Verification solutions is a big plus.
• Experience with the FinTech industry is a plus.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.
