About the position

Asymptote Architecture is seeking an experienced Designer/Design Architect to join their New York-based international design studio. The role involves developing architectural designs under the guidance of a Project Leader or Principal, contributing to various projects, and providing leadership to interns and junior designers. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated creative designer capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team, with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs at the direction of a Project Leader or Principal.
• Contribute to the development and production of documents, models, and images to convey design intent.
• Coordinate and oversee the preparation of design presentations.
• Provide leadership to interns and junior designers.
• Independently coordinate with engineers and consultants.

Requirements

• 3+ years of post-graduate fulltime experience in a leading design-oriented architectural office.
• Excellent design skills with experience from concept design through to design development phase.
• Proactive with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the design team.
• Proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite is required; Enscape, Revit, or Grasshopper are a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills both verbally and graphically.
• 3D Modeling skills including digital modeling, 3D printing, and physical modeling.
• Ability to liaise with engineers, consultants, municipal authorities, and other third parties.
• Capable of working creatively and productively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and adapt without compromising project goals.
• Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines and budget time.
• Professional degree in Architecture; LEED certification is an asset.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
