About the position

The HR Benefits Coordinator is responsible for managing various administrative tasks related to employee benefits and leaves administration. This role involves processing employee benefits, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The coordinator will work closely with HR, Finance, and IT departments to facilitate efficient management of employee benefit programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial intake of all e-mail and electronic correspondence for the HR Benefits and Leaves Administration inbox.
  • Answer general inquiries about benefits, leaves, FMLA, and other related topics from vendors, carriers, and agencies.
  • Verify and enter employee benefits into HRIS (UltiPro).
  • Complete and respond to National Medical Child Support Orders and notify employees accordingly.
  • Process enrollments and terminations in the online benefit enrollment platform.
  • Schedule and distribute benefit information to newly eligible employees.
  • Initiate actions in UltiPro Benefit Administration for new benefit enrollees.
  • Process COBRA benefits and investigate related issues.
  • Audit and forward monthly carrier statements/invoices to A/P for processing and payment.
  • Assist with outgoing correspondence and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and IT to manage employee benefit programs effectively.
  • Organize special projects related to health and wellness events.
  • Observe confidentiality policies and comply with regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least six months of clerical experience in a high-volume professional office setting, preferably in Human Resources or Employee Benefits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems, specifically UltiPro.
  • Familiarity with COBRA regulations and processes.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage of $19-$22.
  • Monday to Friday work schedule from 8am to 5pm.
