About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Tax Accountant to join our team at Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP. This position is ideal for individuals with 3-5+ years of experience in tax accounting. As a Staff Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for providing a range of tax services, including the preparation of tax returns, tax planning, and consulting for a diverse clientele. Our clients include individuals, businesses, corporations, trusts, estates, partnerships, and non-profits, and we handle various types of taxes such as federal, state, payroll, excise, and sales tax. You will have the opportunity to work with clients from multiple industries, including manufacturing, retail, oil and gas, agriculture, and medical sectors. In this role, you will prepare individual and business tax returns of varying complexities and assist with payroll tax returns. You will be expected to demonstrate competency in technical skills, maintain high work quality, and adhere to professional standards. Understanding the firm's policies and procedures is crucial, and you will participate in training courses to further develop your technical skills. Providing excellent client service is a priority, and you will be responsible for producing quality work efficiently while being attentive to client needs. Additionally, you will become proficient in tax research, utilizing the firm's reference sources to enhance your knowledge and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of individual and business tax returns of varying complexities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • CPA exam eligible preferred
  • Experience with current computer tax programs and reporting tools
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
