About the position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team in Orlando, FL. This full-time position involves the installation, MDU rewiring, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including telecommunications, computer networking, and security systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and cabling, with hands-on experience in network installation and fiber splicing.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain low voltage cabling systems for telecommunications and data networks.
• Perform network installations including configuring Cisco routers and other networking equipment.
• Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as ohmmeters to ensure proper installation and functionality.
• Conduct fiber splicing for fiber optic cables to ensure high-quality connections.
• Troubleshoot network issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
• Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Experience with computer networking principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Cisco routers and Ethernet technologies.
• Knowledge of telecommunication systems including voice, data, and video applications.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams related to low voltage installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
