About the position

Fur Paws LLC, located in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced receptionist to join our dedicated team of 13 individuals. The receptionist will play a crucial role in managing the front desk operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow during their shifts. This position requires a self-driven, motivated, and engaged individual who can handle various responsibilities while providing excellent customer service to our clients and their pets. The receptionist will be the first point of contact for clients, and as such, must embody the values and professionalism of Fur Paws LLC. The receptionist will be responsible for answering phones, receiving and discharging dogs, and charging clients for goods and services. They will also manage appointment scheduling and cancellations, supervise kennel attendants, and provide information about our services and products to clients. Additionally, the receptionist will be tasked with managing the schedules of groomers, organizing daily grooming appointments, and confirming appointments and pick-ups. Handling client complaints and ensuring that all necessary information regarding the care and grooming of dogs is collected and accurately recorded will also be part of their duties. At the end of each shift, the receptionist will check the cleaning done by groomers and kennel attendants to ensure that our facility maintains high standards of cleanliness and care.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones.
  • Receiving and discharging dogs.
  • Charging clients for goods & services.
  • Scheduling/cancelling appointments.
  • Supervising Kennel Attendants.
  • Supplying information regarding our services & goods to clients.
  • Managing Groomers schedules and organizing the daily grooms.
  • Calling for appointment confirmations and groom pick-ups.
  • Answering emails.
  • Collecting information from our clients concerning their dogs to ensure we have the proper information regarding care, grooming, etc.
  • Handling client complaints.
  • Checking over Groomer & Kennel Attendant cleaning at the end of the day/shift.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or similar role is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented with a friendly demeanor.
  • Basic computer skills for scheduling and communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a pet care or veterinary environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software or tools.
