About the position

The Experienced RN - Registered Nurse - Procedural - Endoscopy position at OU Health involves providing specialized nursing care in a fast-paced endoscopy unit. The role includes assisting in advanced endoscopic procedures, managing patient care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
  • Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary.
  • Administers medication as prescribed.
  • Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers patient care competently.
  • Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers.
  • Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
  • Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegates tasks to support staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire.
  • One year of RN experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in PACU/procedural circulating preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
