About the position

The position involves managing accounting responsibilities for Corporate, Ontario, and Anaheim locations. The role includes preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries, conducting account analysis and reconciliations, and supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring financial accuracy. The candidate will also assist in annual external audits, prepare consolidated financials, and ensure compliance with various tax regulations. Additionally, the position requires managing a team of accounting professionals, overseeing their daily tasks, and fostering their professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for Corporate.
  • Review monthly journal entries for Ontario and Anaheim.
  • Conduct account analysis and reconciliations for various GL and subsidiary ledgers for Corporate.
  • Support the Financial Controller in reviewing the overall financial accuracy for all assigned locations.
  • Assist in the annual external audit and provide needed information.
  • Participate in the preparation of the Consolidated Financials and Month End reporting in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Prepare AR reserve calculation and allocate accordingly.
  • Review AP and AR Aging for accuracy and ensure reconciliation to GL.
  • Review Vendor/Customer Credit Applications.
  • Assist with processing capital expenditures in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly tax estimates with the external tax preparer.
  • Prepare Sales and Use Tax Filings.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead any governmental audits.
  • Oversee Workers Comp insurance renewal.
  • Prepare, review and submit US Census Bureau Surveys.
  • Track, approve and reconcile HR A-line cards.
  • Assist and support other members of the Company as assigned/needed.
  • Manage the team's daily tasks by offering guidance, training, and support.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of related accounting experience required (public accounting experience is a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Tax filing experience preferred.
  • JDE, Bottomline and Planful software experience preferred.
  • Proficient PC Skills - Word, Excel (Intermediate level), PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Manufacturing experience with cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, and dependable team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
