About the position
Smith Lawnscapes is seeking experienced snow plow drivers for temporary on-call positions during the winter season. The role requires availability 24/7 to ensure the safety of properties in unpredictable Michigan weather conditions. Responsibilities include snow removal, ice control, and operating equipment safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and show up for shifts free from influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medications that would affect safety and/or production.
- Clear snow from customer sites as designated by supervisor.
- Relocate snow to designated approved areas.
- Operate vehicles and/or equipment as necessary, in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner.
- Shovel or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc.).
- Control ice accumulation with safe and responsible use of deicing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids, or other deicing chemicals).
- Wear appropriate attire and personal protective equipment at all times.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license & safe driving record.
- Physically fit with strong stamina.
- Must carry and use a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting.
- Must be available to work any time of the day or night, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
- Must be able to work in any weather conditions: extreme cold, rain, dust, wet, wind, etc.
