Responsibilities

  • Complete Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis for structural locations using common fatigue tools and software.
  • Develop location specific detailed Finite Element Models (FEM).
  • Provide technical solutions for aircraft production lines with high priority nonconformance stress and fatigue analysis.
  • Perform single flight probability of failure risk analysis and generate risk reports for customers.
  • Locate hotspot structural locations using in-service fleet maintenance data and provide technical reports to customers.
  • Utilize 3D modeling and data visualization software to update airframe 3D models and complete data processing on fleet maintenance findings.
  • Oversee development and updates on documentation for United States Air Force certification and sustainment requirements.
  • Perform full scale fatigue test finding match analysis using common fatigue tools and software.
  • Develop fatigue and/or material test plans and provide oversight during test execution.
  • Interact with early career engineers to provide training and mentorship on fatigue and fracture analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 3+ years of work-related experience performing structural fatigue/stress analysis.
  • Experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Ability to develop technical reports and present results.
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Software.

Nice-to-haves

  • U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge and experience with fixed wing military aircraft platforms
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and its requirements
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks
  • Ability to understand and write engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings and maintenance reports
  • Experience with Spectrum Generation
  • Experience with Full-Scale Fatigue Testing and/or other structural and material testing plans
  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers
  • Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
