About the position

The Experienced Tax Accountant position at Thurman Campbell Group PLC involves preparing and reviewing individual and business income tax returns, providing tax planning services, and maintaining client relationships. The firm seeks a motivated individual who can contribute to a growing CPA firm with a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of individual and business income tax returns, including state and federal returns.
• Meet with clients for tax planning needs outside of tax season.
• Prepare various tax planning scenarios based on assumptions.
• Research tax matters and provide guidance to clients.
• Develop and maintain professional rapport with clients.
• Prepare clients' accounting through financial statements.
• Assist clients with their QuickBooks needs, including training and monthly write-up work.
• Provide training and assistance to subordinates for accuracy and completion of tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• EA or CPA eligible is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience preparing individual, partnership, corporation, and S corporation tax returns.
• Experience with MS Office suite and proficiency with tax preparation software, QuickBooks, and Excel.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of individual and business taxation, federal and state tax laws.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using UltraTax is a plus.
• Public accounting experience of 3 years (Preferred).
