About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Tax Preparer/ EA or CPA to join our small CPA firm in North Hampton, NH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing personal tax returns for individuals, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial situations. The position offers flexibility, with full-time work during tax season and part-time hours throughout the rest of the year, along with potential for partial remote work after the first year.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for mostly individuals.
  • Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
  • Provide clients with guidance on tax-related matters and financial concepts.
  • Stay updated on current tax legislation and changes in tax laws to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Drake Tax to manage client accounts effectively.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of clients' financial data to identify potential deductions or credits.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Provide tax planning consultation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Sage.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations, technical accounting principles, and financial concepts.
  • Excellent math skills for accurate calculations related to taxes.
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial information and provide sound advice.
