The Seasonal Experienced Tax Preparer at Jackson Hewitt plays a crucial role in guiding clients through the complexities of tax codes and processes. This position focuses on providing expert customer service and tax knowledge, ensuring clients feel supported during what can be an emotional financial event. The role is designed for individuals looking to enter the tax industry, including those with varied backgrounds and experiences, and offers flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance and prepare accurate tax-related forms for clients, including multiyear, multistate, and year-end tax forms.
• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients to gather necessary information.
• Complete E-filing and provide printed copies of returns for client review and signature.
• Answer client calls via the national call center routing system and address tax-related questions.
• Provide IRS audit support and future tax planning advice to clients in a timely manner.
• Collect and process clients' payments, ensuring timely deposits.
• Engage in marketing and business generation efforts to increase client retention and growth.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Mentor and support teammates, providing guidance and acting as a lead when necessary.

Requirements

• 2+ seasons of previous tax experience
• Experience completing individual, trust, and/or partnership tax returns
• Passion for providing extraordinary customer service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Successful completion of the Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• PTIN Certification

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Field Instructor, Remote Support, or Call Center certification
• Tax planning and audit support experience
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license
