About the position

We are seeking experienced Tax Preparers and Bookkeepers to join our dynamic team at Liberty Tax. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of income tax returns for both individuals and businesses, including but not limited to Schedule C and Corporations. Your expertise will also extend to bookkeeping, where you will maintain accounts for small to large businesses, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and thorough account reconciliation. You will be tasked with managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, while adhering to company policies and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, specifically the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). As a Tax Professional, you will prepare and file various types of tax returns, provide tax planning advice to clients, and conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations. You will review financial records to ensure accuracy in tax reporting and assist clients with estate planning and other financial services. Utilizing electronic filing software, you will prepare tax returns and assist clients in maximizing their allowable tax benefits. Additionally, you will be responsible for resolving client issues and computing taxes owed in accordance with the tax code. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Proficiency in tax laws, debits, credits, and financial software
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in estate planning is a plus
  • Ability to invest time in continuous learning and professional development
