About the position

The Experienced Technical Product Manager at Starfish Storage Corporation will lead the definition and implementation of the Starfish Storage unstructured data management platform. This role involves collaborating with company founders, customers, and development teams to define features, manage priorities, and oversee release schedules for a product that includes a REST API, CLI, and GUI interface. The position is crucial for helping clients manage their data effectively in various advanced storage environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and implementation of the Starfish Storage unstructured data management platform.
• Collaborate with company founders and customers to define product features.
• Manage priorities and release schedules for the product.
• Create user stories for developers based on customer requirements.
• Partner with development teams to prioritize and define requirements.

Requirements

• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility in managing multiple clients' needs.
• Bachelor's degree is highly desired.
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Very strong client-facing skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Independent and self-directed.
• Ability to take customer requirements and create user stories for developers.
• Familiarity with Agile development.
• Experience as a storage software product manager.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with research/enterprise storage systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with file systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with storage management software.

Nice-to-haves

• System administration skills.
• Familiarity with common large-site storage systems such as Lustre, Isilon, GPFS, Netapp.
• Understanding/experience in research computing.
