About the position

The Experienced Test Engineer position at Serco involves supporting the US Government by applying technical expertise in test and evaluation (T&E) activities. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective performance analysis, data collection, and compliance with operational requirements. The engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and producing evaluation plans and reports while maintaining a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Level 1 tasks based on technical training and previous testing experience.
  • Conduct research and apply knowledge of Government test and evaluation concepts.
  • Plan and execute performance analysis.
  • Review acquisition approaches to align T&E schedules with decision maker needs.
  • Analyze performance risk areas to focus T&E planning.
  • Specify, validate, and adapt Modeling and Simulation for T&E use.
  • Apply statistical analysis to characterize confidence in performance estimates.
  • Select, develop, and use analysis tools.
  • Execute evaluation plans on data collected from testing tasks.
  • Plan performance data collection and synchronize T&E events with decision points.
  • Establish and employ Data & Configuration Management capabilities.
  • Support Data Authentication group functions and comply with discrepancy reporting processes.
  • Assess operational and system performance requirements for testability.
  • Coordinate with program Systems Engineering and review T&E-related information.
  • Assess operational environments for evaluation attention and scenario selection.
  • Plan risk-tailored performance estimation and analysis of system effectiveness metrics.
  • Design surveys for evaluation of SME input and user assessments.
  • Participate in T&E Working-level Integrated Product Team for evaluation plan coordination.
  • Produce evaluation plans, analysis plans, risk assessments, and reports.
  • Design data sampling schemes to optimize information/resource balance.
  • Select, coordinate, and calibrate instrumentation and data management tools.
  • Ensure test readiness including training of participants and compliance arrangements.
  • Execute testing and data collection per plan and produce associated reports.
  • Define and provide technical direction for Level 1 tasks to assigned TEs.
  • Recommend draft plans and reports for approval by the task leader.
  • Coordinate task implementation with the Government sponsor.
  • Maintain knowledge of current standards applicable to system development.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Five years of experience as a Test Engineer in similar programs and contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Four years of additional Test Engineer experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

  • Competitive salary range from $73,214.46 to $122,024.10 based on experience and qualifications.
