About the position

Chalmers Ford is seeking a Used Car Acquisition Assistant to manage the sales and inventory of pre-owned vehicles. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing profitability while working closely with the Used Car Director. The ideal candidate will have experience in auction and acquisition processes, along with a strong knowledge of used cars.

Responsibilities

• Manage the sales process for used cars, including pricing, negotiations, and closing deals
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle inventory and availability
• Implement effective strategies for inventory control, auction buying and management of recon and all used car issues
• Provide sales support to the sales team and assist in outside sales efforts
• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and preferences in acquisitions and purchases of used cars
• Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing
• Ensure a high level of customer service throughout the sales process

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in Used Car Buying/Acquisition
• 2 years of experience in inventory management
• Strong organizational skills to manage inventory effectively
• Proficiency in PWR (Reynolds), V Auto, Ove and Manheim
• Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with clients
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Experience in retail sales, particularly in automotive or related industries
• Knowledge of inventory management practices for used vehicles
