About the position

As an Experienced Water Resources Engineer at Geosyntec in San Diego, California, you will be part of a collaborative team focused on watershed planning, water quality monitoring, and stormwater management. This role involves overseeing the design of stormwater management projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and contributing to business development efforts. You will work closely with civil engineers, scientists, and geologists to deliver innovative solutions for both public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate project-related assignments to a multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of the Project Manager or Project Director.
  • Plan and oversee the design of stormwater management and drainage restoration projects from conceptual to 100% design level.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic watershed modeling, engineering computations, and create technical documents and visual exhibits.
  • Support business development by obtaining and managing new contracts and participating in proposal development.
  • Apply industry-standard care in the quality development of all work products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • California Professional Engineer license (P.E.).
  • At least 7 years of related progressive experience in civil engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with the local regulatory environment, particularly in San Diego County and its municipalities.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of obtaining and managing contracts with clients.
  • Experience using modeling and design software tools such as HydroCAD, EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
