About the position

As an Experiential Graphic Designer II, you will become a key member of our creative team within the Design Collective studio. This role involves working on a variety of tasks that utilize established design methods to create environmental graphics. Your contributions will be essential in shaping projects that embody our clients' goals and values through effective branding, visual messaging, and spatial design. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative design concepts, environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, and engaging experiences for physical spaces. In this position, you will participate in strategic planning sessions and deliver projects across diverse markets, including civic, hospitality, retail, restaurants, and workplaces. You will be responsible for delivering design solutions for a wide range of graphics, branded environments, signage, and wayfinding projects that align with project goals, including scale, timeframe, and budget. Clear communication of ideas in client presentations and to the team is crucial, as you will demonstrate the ability to apply a client's brand and design aesthetic across multiple mediums and cohesive systems. Additionally, you will develop and execute a technical understanding of the design process from conception to final production, ensuring integration with spatial designs and architectural plans. This role requires a designer with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who is adept at working with integrated teams of architects, interior designers, and other creatives. You will thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, bringing a strong work ethic, flexibility, and a positive attitude to your work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop creative design concepts, environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, and experiences for physical spaces.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and deliver projects across diverse markets including civic, hospitality, retail, restaurants, and workplaces.
  • Deliver design solutions for a variety of graphics, branded environments, signage, and wayfinding projects that meet project goals, including scale, timeframe, and budget.
  • Communicate ideas clearly in client presentations and to the team, demonstrating the ability to apply a client's brand and design aesthetic across multiple mediums and cohesive systems.
  • Develop and execute technical understanding to final production and through fabrication/installation, ensuring integration with spatial designs and architectural plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of post-graduate and directly relevant work experience in environmental graphics.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), CADTools, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at working with integrated teams of architects, interior designers, and other creatives.
  • Ability to draw at scale and work with architectural documentation.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, with a strong desire to share knowledge with the team.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and a positive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced, highly collaborative setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information and solve problems involving multiple options.
  • Advanced graphic and presentation skills in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software.
  • Understanding and application of environmental graphic design principles, theories, color, and materials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Skills in Revit, SketchUp, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere are a significant advantage.
  • Typography and illustration skills.
