About the position

The Expert Analyst - Quality Reporting (Stars) at Emergent Holdings is a pivotal role responsible for the creation and maintenance of monthly dashboards and projections related to the CMS Star Ratings program. This position involves the collection and analysis of monthly data for each Star measure, as well as the examination of historical and current performance trends. The analyst will apply anticipated industry shifts and internal improvement efforts to forecast year-end rates, ensuring that the organization remains competitive and compliant with industry standards. Additionally, the role requires maintaining the Star projection model in light of annual program changes and supporting continuous improvement activities within the organization. The responsibilities of this position extend beyond mere data collection; the analyst will be tasked with publishing monthly dashboards that illustrate Star Rating projections for assigned plans. This includes providing commentary on emerging trends and the drivers of projection changes. The role also involves supporting data analytics and the development of presentation materials for various stakeholders, including executive leadership. The analyst will be responsible for trend analysis, report development, and ad-hoc analysis, ensuring that all data presented is complete, accurate, and timely. Moreover, the position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters. The analyst will compile data from various sources and conduct analytics using software such as Excel, Oracle (SQL), and SAS to support business decisions. Knowledge and experience with Medicare Advantage Stars and/or HEDIS data are considered a plus, as they will enhance the analyst's ability to provide valuable insights and recommendations to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes performance data to identify trends and potential data issues.
  • Projects year-end performance based on historical and current trends, known issues or improvement activities, and industry impacts.
  • Publishes monthly dashboards illustrating Star Rating projections for assigned plans, including commentary on emerging trends and drivers of projection changes.
  • Provides support for data analytics and development of presentation materials.
  • Develops documentation, reports and presentations for all levels within the organization including executive leadership.
  • Responsible for trend analysis, report development, ad-hoc analysis and support.
  • Develop and present complex analytics concisely for consumption by upper management and Executive leadership.
  • Design and implement epidemiologic studies to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.
  • Compile data from a variety of sources and conduct analytics using software including Excel, Oracle (SQL) and SAS to support business decisions.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely data for reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field required to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
  • Strong communication skills are required to understand, interpret, and communicate ideas.
  • Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of data languages such as SAS or SQL.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or other related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Medicare Advantage Stars and/or HEDIS data is a plus.
