About the position

The Expert Engineer - Automation/OT position at Novartis is a temporary contractor role focused on providing technical support for the business continuity and decommissioning of networking systems, SCADA systems, and analytical and process equipment computers specifically for Gene Therapy operations. The role ensures compliance with industry standards and GxP guidelines while executing projects in alignment with local and global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and decommission networking systems, SCADA systems, and analytical and process equipment computers.
• Ensure compliance with industrial standards and GMP guidelines.
• Apply technical solutions according to compliance standards and HSE regulations.

Requirements

• 5 years direct experience in a relevant field.
• Experience with biotech/pharma.
• Experience working as a technical Automation, IT, and/or OT Engineer, Integrator, or System Owner.
• Experience working in a regulated/GMP environment (strongly preferred).
• Experience working with laboratory instruments/software (preferred).
• Decommissioning experience (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of GDP.
• Competency in Automation/SCADA.
• Competency in networking.
• Experience with data management: Software/data integration, data migration/archiving, backups.
• Familiarity with Acronis imaging, access configuration, Windows configuration, VMWare/VSphere, Microsoft SQL Server, Veeam, PaloAlto Firewall, Windows Active Directory, Cisco Network Switches, Rockwell Suite (FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk AssetCenter, Studio 5000), AVEVA PI Historian.
