About the position

The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking an Expert Graphic Designer to support a U.S. federal government intelligence agency. This role is pivotal in enhancing and conveying analytic thoughts and assessments through graphic design. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with analysts to understand their requirements and utilize their graphic design skills to create compelling visual narratives. The position is contingent upon contract award and requires a strong passion for geographic information systems, as well as the ability to transform complex information into engaging visual stories. The National Security Sector combines technology-enabled services and mission software capabilities to support defense and intelligence customers in their mission to defend against evolving threats globally. The team is dedicated to ensuring that customers have the necessary tools, technologies, and tactics to navigate an ever-evolving security landscape and protect people and critical assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a wide range of intelligence products using technology, integrating graphics with text, audio, and video for high-visibility finished intelligence products.
  • Produce dynamic content in accordance with Intelligence Community (IC) published standards, including podcasts and audio segments.
  • Mentor junior designers by providing technical guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in graphic design, with at least some experience within the last two years.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in professional graphics and design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash), Apple Final Cut Pro X, and Map Publisher.
  • Experience applying IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to provide graphic design expertise to junior graphic designers.
  • Experience using logic to evaluate and synthesize multiple sources of information.
  • Experience producing timely, logical, and concise graphics.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex issues clearly, both verbally and non-verbally, with excellent grammar.
  • Experience in researching, evaluating, organizing, and maintaining information within security and data protocols.
  • Ability to recognize nuances and resolve contradictions and inconsistencies in information.
  • Understanding of complex analytic methodologies to strengthen analytic arguments and mitigate surprise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, d3.js, leaflet.js, Angular, or Typescript.
  • Experience in Business Analytics.
  • In-depth knowledge of the intelligence production cycle and related technologies.
  • Experience in defining problems, supervising studies, and leading surveys to analyze data and recommend solutions.
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
