About the position

As an Expert Network Engineer at Ensono, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing complex network solutions that align with our clients' business needs. Your responsibilities will encompass network design, establishing network/component standards, and creating network roadmaps. You will also ensure audit compliance and oversee the deployment of new technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the software and hardware lifecycle of network infrastructure, ensuring that all components fit seamlessly into the overall Ensono strategy. In this role, you will be tasked with engineering and implementing sophisticated network solutions across various disciplines, including security postures and access control. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive documentation that supports these solutions. Your role will also involve network infrastructure automation, where you will leverage your scripting skills in Ansible, JSON, and Python to enhance operational efficiency. You will serve as a consultative resource for both internal and external customers, providing strategic technical direction on complex network projects. This includes selecting and recommending design approaches and systems technology. Your innovative mindset will be essential as you research and develop solutions that enhance existing network capabilities and explore future technologies. You will create product roadmaps and write user stories and requirements to guide development. Additionally, you will provide Level 3 support to Operations, investigating and resolving network communications and operational issues that impact core network infrastructure. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you manage multiple projects and plan the network roadmap, all while analyzing industry trends to assess their potential impact on business or network systems architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex network solutions across various disciplines.
  • Establish network/component standards and create network roadmaps.
  • Ensure audit compliance and oversee the deployment of new technologies.
  • Manage software and hardware lifecycle of network infrastructure.
  • Automate network infrastructure using scripting languages such as Ansible, JSON, and Python.
  • Provide consultative support to internal and external customers at all organizational levels.
  • Contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvements.
  • Provide strategic technical direction on complex network projects.
  • Research and develop innovative solutions for existing and future network technologies.
  • Create product roadmaps and write user stories and requirements.
  • Provide Level 3 support for troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
  • Lead self and others as a Product Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Analyze current and future IT industry trends to assess their impact on network systems architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role and 15+ years in the network space.
  • Expertise in network engineering, design, and architecture in areas such as LAN/WAN, SDN, and automation.
  • Experience with SDN technologies like Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-V, and NSX-T.
  • Proficient with Cisco Routers/Switches, Wireless, and WAN solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of network protocols including BGP, eBGP, OSPF, ISIS, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS, and VRF technologies.
  • Mastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing, and subnetting.
  • Extensive troubleshooting experience in complex multi-vendor, multi-protocol routing/switching networks.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, GitHub, Terraform, and Python.
  • Strong organizational and listening skills, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Methodical problem-solving skills and ability to develop high-level and detailed network designs.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or CCDE are desired.
