About the position

The Expert Revenue Requirements Analyst will play a crucial role in PG&E's Revenue Requirements and Cost Recovery (RRCR) team, focusing on regulatory and financial proceedings to ensure timely recovery of operating expenses and capital investments. This position involves developing regulatory forecasts, financial modeling, and analytics to support decision-making processes for senior management. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate revenue requirement and cost recovery calculations for regulatory rate cases.
  • Perform revenue scenario analyses to support audits, settlement negotiations, and regulatory strategy.
  • Serve as a witness or witness assistant for cost recovery issues on regulatory cases, including developing testimony and workpapers.
  • Conduct complex research on regulatory issues and identify linkages to other decisions.
  • Review and analyze third-party testimony and regulatory proposals, and develop rebuttal strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders through reliable regulatory finance support.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on regulatory cost recovery and utility revenue modeling.
  • Assist with training for business partners.
  • Create effective presentation materials for leadership decision-making.
  • Document processes, guidelines, and standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 years of related work experience.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, plus strong Word skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC, CPUC and FERC operating and reporting requirements for utilities.
  • MS/MBA degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Understanding of CPUC and FERC cost recovery processes and regulatory issues specific to PG&E.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills for conveying key messages.
  • Advanced strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong project management knowledge and process improvement methods.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
