About the position

The Expert Revenue Requirements Analyst plays a crucial role in PG&E's Revenue Requirements and Cost Recovery (RRCR) team, which is responsible for regulatory forecasts and financial analyses to support the recovery of approximately $20 billion in costs annually. This position involves developing revenue requirement forecasts, financial modeling, and analytics to inform decision-making by senior management. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate revenue requirement and cost recovery calculations for regulatory rate cases.
  • Perform revenue scenario analyses to support audits, settlement negotiations, and regulatory strategy.
  • Develop conclusions and recommendations for presentation to leadership.
  • Serve as witness or witness assistant for cost recovery issues on regulatory cases.
  • Conduct complex research for regulatory issues and identify relationships to other decisions.
  • Review and analyze third-party testimony and regulatory proposals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for regulatory finance support.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on regulatory cost recovery and utility revenue modeling.
  • Assist with training to business partners.
  • Develop and deliver effective presentation materials for leadership.
  • Document processes, guidelines, standards, and models.
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean projects.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 years of related work experience.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, plus strong Word skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC, CPUC and FERC operating and reporting requirements for utilities.
  • MS / MBA degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Good understanding of CPUC and FERC cost recovery processes and regulatory issues specific to PG&E.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Advanced strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong project management knowledge and process improvement methods.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
