About The Position

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Expert Technical Writer to support the creation and analysis of highly technical materials. This position is contingent upon award and will primarily work onsite in the Washington, DC area. The role involves authoring complex software documentation, including user manuals, release notes, installation guides, design guides, training materials, and other technical documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to understand and respond to customer documentation needs, as well as evaluate and improve legacy documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, math, or science degrees required.
• 15 years of relevant experience in technical writing or related fields.
• Advanced ability to design and develop Microsoft Products including Office, Project, and SharePoint.
• Excellent writing, editing, drafting, and journaling skills.
• Conceptual and practical understanding of all project management knowledge areas preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with confidential and proprietary information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in creating technical documentation for software products.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze highly technical materials to create presentations of that information.
• Author complex software documentation, including user manuals, release notes, installation guides, design guides, training materials, and technical guidance.
• Partner with development, customer engineering, marketing, and technical support teams to address customer documentation needs.
• Create new documentation and evaluate, edit, improve, and correct legacy documentation.
