About the position

The Agronomy Operations Intern at InsightFS is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field. This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations, allowing interns to learn about the agricultural industry while assisting with various tasks under the guidance of location management. The role emphasizes building professional relationships, operating field research equipment, and applying crop nutrition and protection products.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general Agronomy functions to learn the foundation of the system and industry.
• Help with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gain understanding and experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college or university and in good academic standing at the time the internship begins.
• Ability to obtain a CDL and commercial applicator's license with required endorsements.
• Satisfactory driving record and valid medical card.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently.
• Essential abilities including communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Frequently required to lift 51-70 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and at various heights.
