About the position

The Export Controller and Latin America Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing financial planning, modeling, forecasting, and reporting related to the export of US-produced products, as well as managing finance teams in the Latin America business units in Mexico and Brazil. This role involves establishing systems for financial reporting, ensuring accounting accuracy, leading process improvements, and maintaining strong internal controls while collaborating with various departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Establish systems, processes, and procedures for financial reporting.
  • Provide explanations for period results and communicate results to the organization.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts and charge costs to the general ledger.
  • Participate in the development and support of the ERP system.
  • Ensure accounting accuracy of intercompany transactions for export.
  • Provide financial and operational measurement and analyses to increase productivity and profitability.
  • Conduct financial analyses for customers, focusing on administrative efforts for managing exports.
  • Provide cost and variance forecasts and communicate product cost changes effectively.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Finance Teams at manufacturing locations.
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturing locations.
  • Assist in developing partners throughout Finance/FPA by sharing knowledge of key data and processes.
  • Lead process improvements at manufacturing locations/entities.
  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Sales partners and external customers to guide decision-making.
  • Serve as a business advisor for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with the financial and capital budgeting process, including revenue and cost forecasting.
  • Participate in Innovation Sprints and Learning Loops, providing financial and non-financial analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, interpreting customer requirements for production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Finance or General Accounting experience.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Knowledge and use of database and spreadsheet applications as required.
  • Discipline and methodical approach.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
