About the position

The Export Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in the Supply Chain - Logistics department, focusing on the accurate planning and execution of receiving, storing, and shipping company products and property. This position operates under some direct supervision and is essential for maintaining warehouse stock in an orderly manner while ensuring the warehouse remains neat, clean, and organized. The specialist will adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, completing safety training as scheduled by the EHS department and participating in mandatory safety meetings. Daily responsibilities include unloading products from incoming trucks and placing them in the appropriate areas within the warehouse. The specialist will utilize various types of conventional powered lift equipment, pallet jacks, and hand carts for the unloading and movement of products. Basic transactions in SAP will be executed using RF Guns or computers, with training provided for these tasks. The role also involves ensuring all materials are correctly labeled, assisting in the creation of draft load lists, and verifying the accuracy of final load lists against actual staged products. The Export Operations Specialist is responsible for properly building export pallets to specifications and safely placing them on containers. They will load and position standing blanket rolls for ocean transport and work closely with the traffic coordinator to determine correct container numbers and timing for each load. Effective communication with freight forwarders and drayage companies is essential to coordinate the timely and accurate pickup of outbound containers. Additionally, the specialist will oversee the reorder of dunnage and pallet supplies to maintain Min/Max levels and perform cycle counts as required. The position may require some overtime, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures during daily activities.
  • Unload product from incoming trucks and place it in the proper area in the warehouse.
  • Utilize proper rotation of stock while storing products.
  • Execute basic transactions in SAP via RF Guns or on the computer.
  • Ensure all material is correctly labeled.
  • Assist with the creation of draft load lists and confirm final lists in a timely manner.
  • Verify accuracy of final load lists against actual staged product.
  • Properly build export pallets to specifications and safely place them on containers.
  • Load and position standing blanket rolls for ocean transport.
  • Work with the traffic coordinator to determine correct container numbers and timing for each load.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Must be able to use basic tools such as banding tools, pallet jacks, shrink wrappers, hand trucks, and floor scrubbers.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must demonstrate personal initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to operate various types of powered industrial equipment, both stand-up and conventional.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and common office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word).
